Here’s the reformatted information from the Cleanly documentation on Telegram integration:

Telegram Integration with Cleanly Booking ✈️

This document details how to integrate Telegram with the Cleanly Booking product by ThemeDev. Telegram is a popular messaging application known for its secure and fast communication. Integrating it with Cleanly allows administrators to receive instant updates on booking confirmations directly via Telegram, streamlining communication and management.

Step-by-Step Guide to Configure Telegram Integration:

To set up this integration, you will create a Telegram Bot and obtain its unique token, then configure this token within your Cleanly Booking settings.

Part 1: Creating a Telegram Bot and Obtaining its Token

  1. Search for @BotFather in Telegram:
    • Open your Telegram application (on desktop or mobile).
    • In the search bar, look for “@BotFather” (it should have a blue verified badge).
    • Start a chat with BotFather.
  2. Create a New Bot:
    • In the chat with BotFather, type the command /newbot.
    • BotFather will then ask you to choose a name for your new bot. Provide a friendly name (e.g., “Cleanly Notifications”).
    • Next, it will ask you to choose a username for your bot. This username must end with “bot” (e.g., cleanly_alerts_bot).
  3. Copy Your Bot Token:
    • Once you provide a valid username, BotFather will congratulate you and provide a unique HTTP API Token (often just called Bot Token). This is a long string of characters.
    • Copy this Bot Token. This token is crucial for authenticating your bot. Keep it secure and do not share it publicly.

Part 2: Configuring Cleanly Booking Settings

  1. Access Cleanly Booking in WordPress:
    • Open your WordPress wp-admin panel.
    • Navigate to “Settings” under “Cleanly Booking.”
  2. Go to the Integration Section:
    • Click on the “Integration” tab.
  3. Configure Telegram Settings and Save:
    • Locate the “Telegram Settings” section.
    • Paste your copied Bot Token into the “Bot Token” field.
    • You need to provide your account username(not the bot’s username) without the “@“. Make sure you have subscribed to your newly created bot.
    • Configure the Body templates for the messages. This defines what information from the booking will be sent to your Telegram chat.
    • Save all changes.

Once configured, your Cleanly Booking system will automatically send instant updates about new bookings directly to your Telegram bot (and from there, you can forward them to a specific chat or group if desired), helping you manage appointments efficiently.
